I like trips to see Hibs, this is the third pre-season friendly I have been to, a good day out helped by the Hibs supporters clubs (Boris and Diane, many thanks, if, when you get down here then it will be reciprocated). The wheelies bus is an experience, and many thanks for the lift.
The teams
(nicked from MFC site
)
Boro: Turnbull; Young (Williams 70), Wheater, Huth, Grounds; Aliadiere, O’Neil (Walker 77), Arca (Capt) (Digard 29), Downing (Bennett 70); Tuncay (Johnson 63), Mido (Alves 63). Unused subs: Steele (gk).
Hibernian: McNeil; Van Zanten, Murray, Hogg, Jones (Capt) (Canning 82), Thicot, Keenan (Morais 73), Shiels (Chisolm 73), Fletcher, Nish, O’Brien (Trialist 46). Unused subs: Grof (gk); Stevenson, Campbell.
Key points - we are a different team with Digard, he’s a heart-beat player, in the way Ince or GeorgeΒ were. He could be the find of the season.
Tuncay had a relatively quiet game, I don’t think he plays well with Mido. When Alves came on and Ali went up front with him, you could see the confidence spread through the team and 7 minutes and three headed goals later, we were in the lead.
Some advice to Luke Young, FFS mate, lose the “dipped in curpinol” look, it brought back memories of Clatyon Blackmore.
Ross Turnbull had a steady game, he came out when needed to, he looked decisive, theres hope yet. Especially compared to the Hibs keeper, who at 4′11 and with the build of an under weight whippet, is in for a torrid time.
