Ruthless Results are needed (for us that is)
After a week of derby defeats, cup defeats, red cards and leg breaks it was time to put it all behind us and get motivated for West Brom at home.
West Brom lost against Villa in the previous week and they were lucky that it ended 2-1 but nevertheless a derby defeat is a derby defeat and we can only feel the same anguish.
From the Boro
We may have suffered defeat at the hands of Man Utd in mid-week but to my mind let’s not dawdle in disappointment, let’s get back into gear and get focused on the job in hand.
Unbeaten at home so far, you look at the fixtures and when you see the West Brom game you think ‘tricky’ but you dismiss your early doubts and think ‘must win’.
We need to come out and get straight into it; an early goal to start for us, would for sure get the fans behind them and spur us on to play so free-flowing football Gareth is wanting us to play.
Digard and O’Neil will probably get the nod in centre of midfield whilst with questions raised over Midos fitness, I hope he can shrug his slight pull and return fresh. Adam Johnson is knocking on the door and he might be give a starting role on the right or even the left (vice-versa with Downing) as Aliadiere doesn’t seem to be having the best of times on the right so maybe we could utilise in the last 10-20 minutes to give us a boost and a pair off quick fresh legs against a weary defence.
I think with the home advantage we can get our teeth into this from the off, the last thing Gareth wants is fans on his back as the only good and winning performance we’ve seen thus far as been against bottom of the league Tottenham.
I think the 2-1 charade will continue here.
Come on Boro!!
