Boro travel to Ewood Park in our next fixture and you wonder how or what we can get from this game. (sympathy perhaps ? Ed)Β I look at option 1 and if there was any shred of motivation or determination that we had, itΒ has been dissected like pollen from a bee. Or option 2 where like last season after the Cardiff game we rolled our sleeves and got down and actually earned their wages. A part of me thinks it could be combination of the two, as we all know how physical Blackburn is and they can get a result the ugly way (and that’s before why they play Tugay).
Boro have injury problems that are scattered, we will miss Huth but hopefully Poggy and Wheats can rekindle a bit of backbone within the side. A problem on the right hand side however, with Hoyte out for what could be up to a month, McMahon on loan and suspended anyway and John Johnson, well the poor lad might have been brought on at Chelsea but you can’t start the lad yet. If I were backed into a corner I would have even said Rhys Williams to be given the nod but he is out too. But hopefully for the good of our game, Wheater will get thrown into right back and Poggy will slip in with Riggott.
Up top mind and Aliadiere’s first touch last week was useless, it would be a compliment to say that it was appalling. Alves up top with Mido, O’Neil out wide and give Digard a shot in the middle with Shawky. You could even make it a 4-3-3 if we are trailing before the end, pushing Downing further a field.
Does this game fill you with confidence? Not at the moment but many of us were slightly concerned before the Wigan game so if we come out with the same outcome I’ll be well chuffed.
Blackburn’s form has been off and on (least it’s been on) with 2 wins 1 draw and 3 defeats in the last 6.
Boro haven’t done that badly here in recent years, with a Hasselbaink hat trick when were on song in one encounter. And even last year we were unlucky not to walk away with all 3 points. If that could happen again I would be happy but even so problems need to rectified already so early on this season.
Get the act sorted quickly!
Come on!
0-1.
