After 2 encouraging performances it was time for home game part 2 as we take on the “Happy” Hammers at home. Not sure why they should be “Happy” though, the club is owned by an Icelandic bloke who seems to be having problems with his bank just at the moment.
The Boro showed steel as we took our arse into mission (pardon ? Ed) with the boys in blue (a bit of Dr Dre on a Friday for you) on Wednesday night.
We will have a strong squad with Arca making an impending return after his cameo appearance in mid-week. Mido? Who knows he’s had a week to shrug off his injury so I suppose we’ll have to wait on that one.
I’m confident this will be a good game, as Zola’s men were defeated at the hands of Man Utd on Wednesday but I’m also sure that won’t dampen their motivation in today’s game. They’ve lost the last 5 games so please Boro do not let that stat haunt us. The last recorded win for West Ham was back in September against the Geordies but we’re better than them?
We need to keep it tight in midfield; Wednesday was a fine example for that and look what happened. Mr Downing on the other hand needs an arm round the shoulder but maybe a sit on the bench might do the trick? Or a size 9 delivered to his backside ?
All I know is that goals are needed to aid us in a big win, it’s a no brainer a good win and 7 points over 7 days would be splendid.
Also Alves could make it 3 in 3 so another to add to the Brazilians tally would be equally as splendid. As you can tell I’m looking forward to it, just that stat that’s hanging over West Ham’s head arrrgghh! I don’t like it. Everyone knows we have a track record for screwing up games that are on paper, a show in.
We need to have pace and grit to win, the Iron steel of the Boro is needed to be gripped firmly (did Jonathon Ross write this ? Ed) . If we go 1-0 up please don’t drop back deep, it has cost us too many points already for us and it’s only November!
Bring it on! 2-0 Boro!
