A victim of sudden adult death syndrome, John Owens was a football-loving teenager who attended MFC in the Community’s Football First programme and was a shining example to all. A tournament is held in his honour every year.
The African Sports Embassy are also offering to visit all schools that participate in the tournament and deliver a workshop around cultural diversity in sport and promote better understanding of racism in sport.
The workshops consist of teaching cultural differences within young people from different backgrounds and informing young people about the lives of young people in Africa and various fields such as education and sport.
If you would like to book a workshop, please contact Apollonaire Quedraogo on 07904082306.
