Not_Lawro - getting his dog collar felt
by Not Lawro on November 13th, 2008

woof.jpgAnother win for the mighty reds at the weekend, long may these continue. I’m not that bothered about that cup though. To me, it’s been tarnished since “they” got their grubby little mitts on it. I won’t mention the Spurs game anymore, oh bloody hell I just did.
Been a quiet week this week. Jug ears is back under control - I just reminded him of “the photos” and he was soon towing the line again, and as I can no longer lovingly sculpt Fernando’s face or play with Stevie’s bush I’ve been looking towards Christmas and what to buy. I was also asked to organise the Christmas party which caused Scotty to faint and Jug Ears to shit himself. I’ll keep it simple though and stick with a tarts and vicars party - I have seen the best Altar Boy costume which is ideal for Jug Ears…and it’s in PVC. Nice.

I must be going senile. I am sure Herr Muller had 4 children, but lately he’s only been taking 3 of them out of the house. And why of why does he keep referring to his people carrier as “Der Family Panzer” very strange. Ah well, probably my eyes. Nice to see his extension to the cellars coming on well. Here’s the predictions ….

Bolton Wanderers v Liverpool (KO 12:45)

Bolton picked up a good win last week, thanks mainly to their keeper and the tightness of the league showed as this propelled them up to mid table. As with a lot of sides they need a bit of consistency.

The reds were in fine form battering the baggies last week and will welcome the lovely Fernando back with open arms and a big wet kiss …. Hmmmmmmm. We all know what the score will be here and what a pleasure it will be watching it.

Prediction : 0-3

Arsenal v Aston Villa

In many respects, Arsenal saved their season last week by beating United. It kept them in touch with the top two (just) and with other results they got a nice buffer between themselves and 5th. Surprising to say this but like Bolton, the Gunners need to become more consistent.

Villa should be 3rd but have had 2 bad defeats recently. The second of which was to “them”, not only that but they actually gifted “them” both of the goals. For that reason I can see no other result but a home win.

Prediction : 3-1

Blackburn Rovers v Sunderland

A replay of this weeks Cup game. Blackburn were thankful for their keeper to stop their defeat to Chelsea being heavier. The top teams have had fun at Ewood this season and I think the tactics have been somewhat to blame.

Sunderland will have been devastated to lose last week so late in the game and now instead of being in mid table find themselves in the bottom three. I can see the identical score that from the game in mid week.

Prediction : 2-1

Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur

Fulham picked up a vital home win last week but will be aware a defeat can quickly sink them back in to the relegation zone. The league is so tight nobody can relax at the moment, as Jug Ears said when I got the Vaseline out.

Spurs are the in form team at the moment. Happy Harry has worked wonders and Darren Bent is finally re-discovering his Charlton form. It is difficult to see any other result than a Spurs win, despite Fulham’s victory last week.

Prediction : 1-2

Manchester United v Stoke City

United are surprisingly at the moment looking to stay in the top 4 rather than concentrating on chasing the teams above them. With likely wins for the top 3 nothing less than a win will do for them.

Stoke are making a good showing in the Premier this season, though last weeks game was truly awful. United’s hunger to keep their faint title hopes alive means home win here.

Prediction : 3-1

Newcastle United v Wigan Athletic

A poor defeat on the road for Newcastle last week and just as they thought they had turned the corner they find themselves backing the drop zone. However this is an ideal opportunity for them to sort out their home form.

Wigan v Stoke was a true stinker last week but Wigan will be glad they picked up a point. They would like to build on this but on this current run they are in I can only see the points staying on Tyneside.

Prediction : 2-0

West Ham United v Portsmouth

The hammers are anything but happy at the moment and with the league being so tight they need to quickly get out of the slump they are in or they will be in real trouble.

Portsmouth were fortunate to win last week if I am honest but will have welcomed the 3 points. I can see this game being a draw and if you want to start your Christmas shopping early, this is the match to miss

Prediction : 0-0

West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea (KO 17:30)

The baggies were well beaten at the Mecca last week and will have been surprised to suddenly find themselves at the bottom of the table. They know one win will catapult them to mid table, just a pity who their opponents are today.

Chelsea made light of the conditions and made it look easy last week and are keeping up the pressure on the Champions-elect. I doubt the shock in midweek will affect them and although I expect them to have a tougher time this week, I can see the same result.

Prediction : 0-2

Everton v Middlesbrough (Sunday, KO 13:30)

Everton finally seem to be hitting some form after a slow start to the season and the late, late win last week has put their sights firmly back on the UEFA cup place and they have an easy game to consolidate it.

“They” were gifted a win last week and are picking up far too many points for my liking. Still at least the league is close and I expect (hope) they will be back in trouble by the end of the month. Banker home win.

Prediction : 3-0

Hull City v Manchester City (Sunday, KO 16:00)

Hull are in their worst run of the season and last weeks defeat will have come as a real shock to the system - especially as they should have won it easily. With the league being so tight even they can get sucked into trouble fairly quickly.

Manchester City are on the crest of a slump, and the owners will be worried if they see MC Hammered again. However I can honestly see a home win here and real alarm bells beginning to ring in Manchester.

Prediction : 2-1
