With yet again another unpredictable Boro win, it’s time to look at away game part 2 at Everton this week.Everton have dipped into a bit of good form in recent weeks and have a hat trick in wins over Bolton, Fulham and West Ham. Boro on the other hand are on the 3 points rebound after that glorious win at Villa.
I’m sure everyone would have wanted a draw last Sunday but when the opportunities are there you have to be ruthless as Tuncay proved.Â
With the current elation I have for Boro at the moment I’d like to think we can get a good result here, but I don’t want to get carried away, as for one we are away and two Everton are in good form. On the other side of the coin there are only 1 point above us so it could be anyone’s game. Â
Everton came back and showed a bit of steel last week in their 3-1 away win to West Ham after trailing 1-0.Â
What an encouraging stat is that Everton have already had their first win at home, so the classic case scenario of Everton not won at home all this season and with us being on Sky, you know the usual factors. I’m just slightly relieved that Saha has opened his account; he seems to be firing all cylinders at the moment, which could be a concern.
I can only hope that if we don’t get a result at Everton that we come out of the game with some dignity. We have two home games coming up so coming out of Liverpool with some grace (this time) would be good.Â
The back four should remain unchanged, as should the midfield the forward line, however if Mido is fit then it’s a judgement call from Gareth on whether he is given the nod and drops Alves or sticks with Alves.Â
Old school tactics may come into play here, with their towering centre backs in Yobo and Lescott the long ball tactic might not aid us well so we may have to be crafty and cunning to earn us a good result.
I’m confident but I’m trying not too be too confident.
Come on Boro!
