Full house against Fulham?

Full House against FulhamAfter a dominating display against Hull it now makes this next fixture massively important to ensure we gain 3 points.

The way the league table is right now you couldn’t call it, out of all the teams for Sunderland to have this week it’s just our luck they have Hull at home after us. Newcastle (the jammy so and so’s) managed to squeeze a draw against Stoke, now going level on points but better goal difference.

However this doesn’t hinder the fact that we need to win, what if the best-case scenario we actually manage to slip out of the bottom, only to face Arsenal before a Champions League semi final 1st leg and Man Utd before the 2nd leg? It’s now a epic task where fans are called to give much needed support, like we have all season, we’ve been through it all this season, players arguing with fans, best player putting in a transfer request, top goal scorer walking out whenever he pleases, a chief exec who thinks it’s the best squad in 20 years, I mean we deserve a bit of salvation damn it and we may have got a pinch of it last week, last weeks performance is only the taste of what we need to unleash between now and throughout the last 6 games.

Fulham I don’t think have any major injury concerns, obviously the return of Mark Schwarzer will be highlighted but they haven’t done that badly on their travels, with a win over in-form Bolton 3-1 and a win away to Man City again 3-1. Hopefully history will be on our side as their record here is quite bad over recent years.  Hasselbaink dived in the box for Zenden to hit a penalty-winner much to the infuriated Coleman. And Morrison smashing in a half volley to make it 3-2 a couple of seasons back. Last season however this fixture went our way as we ran out 1-0 winners through an Aliadiere strike.

I’d expect the same team with the same drive, same passion, same commitment, same willingness to win and hopefully it could give us the same result but this is Boro so I’d go into the Riverside with an open mind.

I’d like to say win but I’m going to go for a 1-1 and we may sneak it at the end to really give us a chance.
