The journey to Swansea was long but went better than first thought. No one went hungry and no one was thirsty,
The ground itself was small and of a good standard with good facilities for the disabled, apart from a dodgy lift, which is the same as the one at Darlo. Swansea need to be congratulated on the facilities.
As usual the Boro fans got behind the team. The Wheelies being as noisy as ever. There was good banter with the home fans, which is always good.
On the pitch it was a good team performance. The defence looks rock solid.
Emnes and Johnson were slow to start, but got involved. Yeates and O’Neil stood out in the first half. The second half saw Swansea start strong. However a mistake by Williams gave Emnes the ball and he whacked in a cracker of a goal. As the second half continued we got better. Tuncay came on to a good reception. Johnson was more use in the second half and sent over a corner from the right that Tuncay headed home.
Swansea fans got sickened off at this point and headed for the exits. Dyer had a near miss when he shot from inside the penalty area, Coyne making a save, the Grounds clearing.
This was the first time I had seen the Boro win away by more than 1 goal in 4 years, in retrospect it was an easy win, as easy as we will get in this league, the bigger challenges are yet to come.
Home by Midnight.
