What is GoogleBot? I’ve seen it browsing the forums

Google have a program that runs from their servers which literally crawls the entire web and downloads each page to build up it’s search database. That is it. Previously it would come up as a guest. It can’t post (and isn’t really logged in) but because this board allows us to identify it, we can control it crawling our site.

Is there a way to make the messageboard more ‘work-safe’?

Go to your User Control Panel once logged in:

Then select Board Preferences, followed by Edit Display Options:

From here you can disable avatars, signatures, smilies and images within posts.
