To be honest, people know its the law, they have to sit down. They shouldnt complain when a steward is doing their job ffs.

Its clearly something that they have to do, or we wouldnt pass the satfey checks. The club are only covering their backs its a letter its not a man with handcuffs

Boro fans are fucking senseless at times, they get worked up over nothings.

Ive just read the letter and yes I agree we all know the law regarding standing. We may disagree with it but the laws the law.

However the last paragraph could have been worded better or not at all.

Or is the next thing going to be, 'well we dont tell them do we?'

The away fans is something totally different and should be treat as such, this is about home fans standing when they are asked not to, clearly its not asked once as the club wouldnt send out letters for a one of thing would they?

the persistant standing it the problem im led to believe, not actually standing up and then sitting down, or standing up and moving in or out of the seated area's.

But then again, i dunno why im answering as you are being a pedant.

a love supreme is having a good laugh about this, i do think its quite funny but absolutley pathetic, if your going to complain about noise levels dont go to the match! i kow the stewards are absolute cocks at the SOL getting people to sit down but not many people listen in the end and the stewards start to click on, i dont know what there like at the riverside but i can imagin they are the same!

Its not a case about singing when your sat down. Its law and has been for the past decade or so that you cant stand at ANY stadium. Whether you agree with that or not, thats how it is!

Bollocks to the law then eh? You obviously dont know why the law came in then

Weve had excellent atmospheres in the Riverside, admittedly not for a few years now but still in the days of people sitting down. The Liverpool 98 game was probably one of the best Ive witnessed pre or post all seater stadia

Course I know why the law was enforced, but with strict rules, strict stewarding, why can't standing be allowed?

Have the family sections and the sections where people cant be bothered to stand, but have a couple standing.

I think the problem with respects to the atmosphere is to do with the utter dirge being served up week after week on the pitch, and not the law about standing.

I dont disagree with that. I was just saying there have been games when the atmosphere has been excellent. Yes this was due to the quality of the game, but it was still in an all seater stadium

This letter has come out today and everyone has known now for over 10 years that by law you arent supposed to stand. I dont like it either, I stood on the Holgate for 15 years. Its just how it is. The problem with the letter was the last paragraph about making too much racket etc. That bit was misguided to say the least

Someone also needs to tell Sue that Block 53 is in the south-east corner as well. Attacking the North stand?

I can understand the concerns about the standing, since love it or hate it the rules regarding it our out of our control. But that last part, it's shocking in its ineptness. Telling fans of a club in a relegation battle to be quiet unless we score. I'd be tempted to write a letter back stating if I only cheered when we scored I'd might as well be a mute.

Why dont you just fuck off you utter cunt.

It wouldnt take much to change a stand to...blah fucking blah. Do you think there are not groups out there who have been campaining hard for standing areas or is your head stuck that far up your fucking arse that you dont see anything unless it comes out in a letter regarding boro fans?

Its something that fans groups have been banging on about since 89, its not going to fucking change because of a letter handed out at the riverside is it?

*note: Gibbos head is always up his own arse that was a rhetorical question, see Gibbo thinking he would be fine in the West HAm home end, being able to 'handle himself' but never having had a fight in his life*

Why not what?

Why do i suggest you know fuck all about the subject, have no grip on reality or both?

Because many fans groups have been campaigning for years to have safe standing area's introduced in the English game. We are talking about nearly 20 years since the taylor report now, you make it sound like it would be a peice of piss having a law changed, and clearly its not that simple.

you on the other hand may be that simple.

Thats what really fucked me off with it. The last paragraph is an invitation for the fans to fuck off and not be there. Which is essentially what theyre heading towards anyway with on the pitch performances.
