NFL 2014 Season

PostFri Sep 05, 2014 6:35 am

So that was easy.....

Absolute dominant from the Seahawks. Thought Packers would put up more of a fight but but Seahawks were better in every area.

Re: NFL 2014 Season

They have had a few key injuries. Raji is out so they struggled to block the run. They've also lost their centre and their guard went down with a MCL injury so they struggled to run themselves. Hopefully their OL will improve but they won't be playing defenses as good as the Seahawks every week. The other teams in their division all have some good players on offense but they all have pretty poor defenses. They'll win their division but I don't think they'll make it too far through the playoffs.

I fancy the Saints to win it this year though. They've made some good improvements on both sides of the ball. 49ers have got weaker on defense and Seahawks have lost a few as well. The NFC IS much stronger than the AFC so I think the winner will be from the NFC again.

Ray Rice, starting RB of the ravens.

For battering fuck out of his missus.

There's a video if you so wish to see it, search TMZ Ray Rice. There in a hotel lift. But I won't link it on here.

I've seen it, he could and nearly killed her.

Didn't someone draft him in our draft waaay higher than he should have, like 1st or 2nd round. I thought it was a bad pick when I saw it but now it looks even worse.

Apparently, the ravens made the girlfriend publicly apologise for the incident. They aren't looking too good now either.

With a defense like that we will be lucky if we don't finish dead last. We were beyond horrible and it places way too much pressure on the Offense.

This. The Offense stuttered, the Defence was just abysmal. I have never known a team so awful on the road.

In saying that the Raiders were comedy gold last night. They will be fun to watch in a couple of weeks.

Still don't have a team, so have picked out the Bengals to follow this season for absolutely no reason.

For my weekly roundup I am watching the highlights for Panthers, Packers, 49ers, Giants and Cowboys each week - should get a decent overview of what's going on by seeing those 6 / 12 with their opponents

1. Brees spent most of Pre season injured. I think he is either not up to speed yet or still carrying that injury.
2. Peyton's refusal to stick to the running game.
3. We are the worst team in the NFL on the road.
4. The Defense is woeful. There is always the chance we will give up a 50 - 60 yard TD

The best we can do this year is 8-8 as we will not win a road game.

Re: NFL 2014 Season

So in March 2013 the Seahawks gave up a 1st, 3rd and 7th round pick for Percy Harvin. Gave him something like a 40 million contract, and he helped them win the superbowl.

They've now sent him to the Jets, for a mid round pick..........

Considering he's in his prime, and is clearly a very very good player, that's two teams now that have shipped him out.

Twitter exploded last night. Very strange deal from the outset, got to assume he's a bit of a tosser?

It does seem a bit strange but he's only had one good game for them, which was at least the superbowl. He must have an attitude problem.

Could be interesting for the jets now, having harvin opposite Decker.

Does anyone have balls as big as the St Louis Special Teams coach. That fake punt return was nothing short of genius and to fake punt so late into the 4th Quarter was gutsy beyond belief

Fantastic stuff. Now mark Sanchez is about to lead the Eagles to the division title....... 8)

Did you see on the bbc, that the 10th highest paid sportsman, and therefore top NFL is.....

Matt Ryan.

Not the best eh. I mean a division game is cool, but it's the Jets.

On the face of it Lions - Chiefs is the best.

Not the best set of fixtures. I'll probably try get tickets for Lions v Chiefs.

Most of those teams are rubbish though and/or were here this year. At least the Jags might not get hammered again. Bills are pretty rubbish as well.

As long as whichever game I go to is a decent game then I'll be happy. Lions v Chiefs means a weekend in London for Halloween as well so could be a good party weekend.

This set of fixtures will show whether or not we can sustain the interest though with no stand out teams/players to attract fans other than those that have already been. Might get to see Megatron at last though.

Most likely to just be an opportunity to slightly extend a miserable season for whoever wins it. It's not been a good year for any of the teams in that division. Although, stranger things have happened and anyone can win, especially at home.

And now into the playoffs. Despite looking dodgy early doors the Seahawks have a good chance to repeat.

The fact they have Home Field Advantage is a huge plus though I expect the Packers and maybe even the Cowboys to push them close they have to be favourites to get back to the Superbowl.

In the AFC I can see past the Pats or Broncos. Pats shading it because of the HFA but you can never rule out Manning.

If the Pats get there they have a better chance as they have the better Defence, if it's Hawks - Broncos again I think it will be just as big a thrashing.

I'm hoping someone beats the Seahawks before the Packers have to play there. Packers have been struggling on the road and I don't fancy their chances in Seattle. I think they can beat anyone else though.

I would've been really confident about the Pats recently but they've taken their foot off the pedal recently. I still think they'll get to the Superbowl though. Everyone else is too hit n miss in the AFC.
