Head of Steam, Norton

PostFri Dec 11, 2015 1:44 pm

Absolute plug on my part but for those that like high quality beers & ciders you should check out our latest Head of Steam opening in Norton on Thursday.

On top of this we have partnered up with Longhorns BBQ Smokehouse who will be doing the food in there.

Plug over!

Will do...although I am pretty sure you won't have a Spurs top on so give me a clue!!?

I'll be in a navy suit and tie (no carnation in the lapel and I won't be carrying the Telegraph though)

Unfortunately we have had a few gremlins in the system and we are now not opening until 12pm tomorrow!

We just want to make sure this is perfect!

Sorry fella. I was there but we were extremely busy so it was pretty full on. I hope you had a good night and liked the place.

It was good! Loved the free pulled pork sandwiches, very good! My only disappointment was that I treated myself to a bottle of the 9% Leffe and I never got a Leffe glass (or any glass!!!). It's not a beer to be drunk out of the bottle lol!!

We had plenty of Leffe glasses too so you should have got one. I will put it down to first night nerves!

I was impressed that he at least warned me that the bottle hadn't had chance to fully chill yet and let me decide if I still wanted it.....by that point I'd had too much to care....9% Leffe probably wasn't a good move!! :)

I just had a look at the website and the 'Beers' tab doesn't appear to work. To be fair it's the same with the other pubs. The drinks menu looks good but I'd like to be able to see what real ales are currently available. To be fair, given where I live, it's unlikely I'll ever visit, but I'd be interested and might be in a position to visit one of the others.

The menu is linked direct to the Perfect Pint app and we have had a few tech issues with this which is being resolved.

Cheers. Do you have constantly changing beers, some resident with others changing, or always the same?

The handpulls constantly change as do some of the keg lines.

Great, thanks. The Headingley one might get a visit when it is open if I'm at the cricket.

Back in the early 90s the old Tap & Spile chain used to do a beer mat which listed all its pubs. That was absolutely invaluable for finding a decent pint in areas where there wasn't a Guide pub or if there was it was not handy for where you wanted to be. I remember seeing one of Craig Hignett's last games for Crewe at Colchester on a Friday night. There was a Tap & Spile on the way to the ground. That beer mat grew into what we now know as the internet.

I was in the Head of Steam last week. Quality choice of ales available and have to say, the food was immense.
