Saturday night is a go, G's off out 8)

I didn't get the chance to try Orisa outside of Skirmish but I've played against her a couple of times and I like her kit. Being able to just plonk down a barrier and start firing is super useful, and I've seen some tidy alt fire usage - pulling me off high ground, pulling some people off ledges, etc. Going to enjoy giving her a proper go on Friday.

New Sombra seems like she's going to be class though, on certain maps health pack hacking is super useful (especially with solo healer) and her whole flank and hack play is even easier now she's got the short cooldown on translocator. Will give it a go this weekend, few of us on it might work a bit better than with randoms.

Bastion is still a major player at the moment, I lost 3 comp solo queue comp games last night to teams built around him... though awful teammates didn't help.

What time are you heading on tonight?

Did well to turn it around in that last session, was a bit depressing for the first couple of hours though! Anyone feeling it this weekend? G is away Friday and Saturday so I'll be getting some hours in.

Hopefully I'll get on over weekend, that hour or so I was on was awful. Just didn't click

We need a way to be able to make up for having 2 terrible team-mates picking stupid heroes.

Was just one of those nights, it only came down to a good/bad ult most times. I know I definitely made a few simple cock ups that cost us rounds (normally on Rein, who I need to work on a bit).

I need to nail down a few good heroes and get good at them. Instead of constantly searching and switching.

I'm going back to Tracer. Fuck it. 8)

What night is good for people this weekend? Friday or Saturday, one or the other for me.

I've managed to sort my connection out a little bit, I feel like I've been playing a lot better as a result.

Had a game yesterday; we held the second point on Anubis, when it was our turn to attack two people from our team got disconnected. Successfully managed to hold the first point for two minutes with four people (I was playing as Mei). The two guys re-connected and we went on to hold the first point and win the game. Very satisfying.

Not sure how I feel about Orisa, it doesn't feel very fun coming against teams with a Reinhardt and an Orisa, especially with the classes I prefer to play like Soldier/Mei etc. I feel I'm just constantly hitting barriers. I think Junkrat is a pretty good pick in these scenarios now, might start giving him more of a go if the team is struggling to break the barriers down.

Would imagine Pharah/Bastion would be good shouts for the barrier meta as well. Should see some more flanking plays as well.

You ever watched Seagull on Youtube play Genji.

I'm like that, x1000

Deflecting Zaryas graviton back into her own team, that's how I roll. :))

Maybe more akin to a literal Seagull playing Genji.

I can already see/hear the incandescent rage of the duo queues who get lumped in with a silent four stack with the low gold insta-locking Tracer/Genji. Will keep an eye out for people bitching us out on the OW PS4 groups.

Set tracer/genji controller twitchness to %150.

If we can figure out how to stop losing the first six games every session we'll be a bit of a force, I reckon.

Some good games though, I'm really liking Orisa and I'm just going to insta-lock Lucio on control maps, had a great time with him on the last couple of games.

I can't believe how bad this season has been, the standard of teammates is so low. I'm on at the moment, solo-queuing against my better judgement. Hanzo, Genji and Junkrat mains everywhere, no awareness of hero mechanics or team composition, it's impossible to get a good run going.

Wasn't particularly convinced by the whole "ELO hell" thing before but fuck me, I get it now.

I've plummetted from ~2800 to ~2400 over the past 2/3 weeks. Just pure rage at how rubbish the standard is at times. Widowmakers, Hanzos, Junkrats, Genjis everywhere. It's so frustrating, it's almost as bad as quick play!

Did well enough yesterday though, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Multiple chokes in the last game though, our Mercy sat on top of the point, unshielded, with rez is her pocket was the standout. Easy win if she'd hidden in the building on the left and the DPS had pushed forward to harass while we controlled the point.

We were good though, having a reliable Soldier behind me to follow up on my hooks made a world of difference, we cruised for two and a half games.

Genji main.

Won 3 in a row.

As a side point, not seen Orisa get used too much?

Orisa is a weird one, I think she's good, her cool downs are super low so if the red team doesn't have good focus/Bastion she can have a barrier up almost permanently. But she doesn't offer the same initiation as Rein with his ultimate and pin, so isn't necessarily as good on attack.

I love her on defence though, particularly 2CP

Could see Orisa being useful on the start of the Hollywood map, that initial choke point is quite tight.

All being well I'll be on tonight, might not be on mic but I'll be listening in and will change up as requested.

Volskaya, Hanamura and Eichenwalde are well suited to her as well. I think she can work better than Rein on defence because she's just holding one point, can turn to deal with flankers without dropping her shield, and doesn't have to worry about recharge.

Can't get on Saturday, working on Sunday so don't fancy getting all pumped up on OW before a 6:30 start :ouch:

Bit rough on Friday, even in a 5 stack. Managed to recover from the couple of losses with a quick solo queue Saturday afternoon though.

There's a good video on Your Overwatch this morning, analysing some D.Va play and talking about target prioritisation and the whole damage medal fallacy with tanks/characters generally, it's worth a look if anyone wants to fine tune their D.Va-ing.

Yeah, very good session. We carried a few of those games.

Makes such a difference having an idea of how people play, like knowing if I pin their Rein everyone is behind me ready to clean up or of Rich is on high charge I can speed him in to clean up. Much better than solo queue.

Edit: I see Able went on a bit of a solo run and made Plat 8) I've edged into the 2900s as well. Even managed a Winston POTM, what is happening.

As an aside, (I may have asked you before)

Have you played Heroes of The Storm on PC? Genji & Dva added to the game, alongside Zarya, Tracer and Lucio.

I haven't no, but I've heard good things. My PC is currently doing a good impression of a potato and needs a good seeing to though, so I've not paid much attention to the PC scene for a while.

Also, been chipping away at comp this week in solo and I'm back in Diamond. Who wants to touch me? No-one? Not even you?

I got 2 gold legends in one loot box! Buzzing.

Got the new Genji blackwatch skin #progenji and some widowmaker circus ringmaster get up.

Smashing mystery hero in, when you just want a few daft games and don't really care about comp it's great fun.

Attack Torb for life. :D

How useful is Zen in comp? Was playing him in mystery hero last night and proper enjoyed it and seemed to be contributing to my team quite well. If he's useful for us when we go into comp I'll happily play him.

Zen is great, particularly in a dive. If you're calling out Discords a Pharah/Winston/D.Va can fuck up key targets almost instantly.

Pretty shit without comms, though.
