Titanfall 2

PostWed Oct 26, 2016 9:17 am

I've decided i'm going to get this on Friday. Never played the 1st game and everything i've read/heard on this game has been mostly positive.

Anyone else jumping in?

I'm sort of tempted, I didn't get involved with the beta but the news that all the significant updates will be free, Overwatch style, has got me interested. If there's still an active player base down the line I may convert.

Watched a video review and it looks a little bit like Crysis, not sure I will be getting it, CBA with the jumping around bouncing off walls etc

Played the first one, the double jumping and running along walls and that comes a lot more naturally and is a lot more fluid than I was anticipating. It put me off for a long time and I ended up getting it through EA Access. Wish I hadn't have waited cos I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've got other stuff on my plate at the moment but I'll definitely be picking the second one up at some point, hopefully sooner or later!

I'm loving it. Although the story is so far run of the mill, the gameplay and how the weapons feel is fantastic. This backs up a lot of the reviews i've read.
I've mostly been playing SP but have played a bit of MP which has been fun. The only shame about the game is the number of games sold since release, apparently it's a lot lower than what EA were hoping. Obviously sandwiched between Battlefield and COD hasn't helped. It deserves to sell games.

Yeah the reviews I've read have been spot on, as has the gameplay footage, but fuck me they've scored an own goal launching between BF1 and IW. "Doing a Battleborn", as it were.

Shame really, the devs have a pedigree and with the financial clout of EA it could be a great series if they stopped dropping the ball.

The single player game has gone from great to utterly fantastic. Lovely twist. I'd go as far as saying this is the best single player fps i've played since the original Modern Warfare, it's that good.

Reviews look insane for this.

Considering COD is a complete shit show at the moment, this could be a nice alternative to battlefield.

How's the MP?

Yes, got it on PS4. Mostly playing through the single player. I'm hoping to play some MP tonight.

I'm playing through the campaign on normal which I enjoy but I guess you hardcore FPS's guys would get more enjoyment and challenge on the harder difficulty. On normal i'm not having to many problems.

Just spent a few hours on MP and really enjoyed it. Bloody quick and obviously i'm shit but had some great fun. I particularly enjoy jumping as a pilot onto the titan and nicking their battery :D

Last match I called my titan and picked on a guy who's shield was not %100. I got all excited after luckily having the perk that ejected me out of the titan automatically and I finished him off mid air

I watched your video last night after playing on clubs.

I've now woke up to having titanfall on my PS4.

Will join up with you for some games. 8)

Gone onto my Christmas list, I'm hoping that while it has been skipped over in the initial week or so because of the launch timing that it'll pick up sales as it gets closer to Christmas.

Just finished the campaign.

I found it fantastic fun. A couple of nitpicking bits but definitely my favourite FPS SP game in years. I'd give it 9/10.

What a lovely surprise this game has been.

Got to share toms concerns about the timing of its release date. Does seem odd.

However, the MP is fantastic and has the early cod modern warfare feel. The wall running and agility of the pilots is so much fun and so fluid to pull off.

You can tell this has been made by the better team when they split from COD.

Makes a great alternative to battlefield. Zero reason at all to get COD.

Able, I agree. It is a lovely surprise. The game was definitely not on my radar until about 2 weeks ago and so glad I picked it up.

I also agree that there is a big enough difference between this and Battlefield 1 that both can be played and enjoyed as a different experience. A slower/larger MP in Battlefield against the small/quicker game of Titanfall 2.

Another thing which i'm going to praise EA and Remedy is that you won't have to pay for any future DLC, it's a free. No season passes.

Might try some bounty hunter.

What a little sleeper of a game this is. It really is a gem. Hopefully Santa gives a few out to b17ers.

You going to be on this week? Will party up with you if you are.

Different.

Both compliment each other.

Battlefield for your large scale teamwork game.

Titanfall for your smaller fast paced fluid game.

I will be playing both, a hell of a lot.

That level/sequence where they are creating 'levels' and you're having to get your way out, is superb. :D

Just got to say, when I started this thread I had no idea I was going to enjoy this game as much as I am.

Another couple of hours tonight on MP. Just such a fun game, even when your as shite as me  I'm improving and getting more kills now. I've even managed to get to the drop ship twice tonight. 1st time ever I managed to make it in :D . If there are enough who have it, why don't we try a private match or 2?

This is the most fun I've had on a MP fps's for years. Double XP over the weekend has increased my level a bit which is a bonus. Even when your having a bad game it doesn't seem that bad. All fun.

Amazing price, for a truly fantastic shooter.

You have got to at least play the single player. It's pretty short but great. Out of all the MP shooters i've played over the last few years, Titanfall 2 is my favourite.

Single player was superb. For a FPS it was clever and punchy. Definitely recommend you give it a blast for that.

Gutted people didn't pick up on this for MP. Vastly under-rated game.
