BAFTAs

PostThu Mar 09, 2017 12:38 pm

Hope this link works, forgotten how to do them.

Uncharted, Inside, Firewatch, Overwatch, Overcooked, Witness and The Last Guardian pick up a fair few nominations. Forgot how many good games came out last year.

Also Stardew Valley in the GOTY category, not bad for one bloke!

I had exactly £6.49 in my wallet and all. Meant to be.

Trine 3 is cheap in the sale as well, tempted by that for couch co-op

Winners

Inside with 4, Uncharted 4 gets GOTY, Overwatch gets muliplayer, Overcooked gets Best British.

Inside is one of those games where I totally get why people are fawning over it, but I'm just not that into it. Glad that the U4 award guy acknowledged the performers too.

Eurogamer comments section wrote:Sorry, Inside got best narrative?...Riiight. I mean, I liked that game but best narrative is a giant stretch. You walk right and them some weird shit happens in the end. That's the whole narrative.

I played through it and enjoyed it, won't be playing it again though (very rare that I go back to anything) but best narrative has got to be Uncharted or something with a movie/book-style story

I liked it but wasn't bowled over by it. Two and a half hours of competent platforming followed by 10 minutes of weird shit which totally makes it. The narrative is there but it's deliberately minimalist and vague, I think giving it a narrative award compared to stuff like Uncharted, Firewatch, etc is a bit wanky.
