If there's early beta access with pre-orders, I'm assuming there will be an open one? Because I might try that.

Not going to lie though, on the pump scale I'm decidedly flaccid.

One to keep an eye on. Destiny is in a pretty good place now, but it took them ages to get there.

If they can get a strong start with this, it could be pretty good.

Wonder how #destinyWanker Andy feels about it.

How do they make a new game that doesnt feel like another expansion?

Would it be wishful thinking if i hoped for them to make it more of an open galaxy type game where you actually fly your ship from planet to planet with space combat enabled? No more loading sequences. The ability to make your ship your base and to walk around inside it to customise it completely. Maybe even the ability to buy a huge ship that you can share with other like a clan ship with several guns that can be manned while flying through space.

Wishful thinking i know but thats what i would have done to make it different. The fps combat was already top level so they dont need to change that but i think they need to add something else to drag me back in.

Good point.

The graphics won't change much, and the shooting as you say was already top quality.

They must have some big changes planned?

Yeah, mostly around the house. The lead developer's new kitchen won't pay for itself.

To be honest I'm pretty 'Meh' about it.

I'm not keen on losing everything I've worked hard to get for 3 years.

I prefer the current tower format whereas the rumours are it will be more MMO. If that's the case it's a huge turn off for me.

PvP needs to be be looked at as it's unrealistic and frustrating.

If the rumours circulating about it at the moment are true I won't be getting it. If it's going to be turned into an open world MMO it's going to go head to head against RDR2, and I know which one I will be getting. Similarly if Crucible isn't modified I'll be going back to CoD (especially if the CoD rumours are true).

There is a gameplay premiere on May 18th and that should help me make my mind up whether to get it or not.

They have ruined Crucible for me. Their latest "tweaks" have make it like the wild west as everything apart from hand cannons and sidearms are useless.

Open beta in summer - I'm down, feeling a break from OW until it's had a few big updates so will give this a bash instead.

Title changed to Destiny 1 v2.0

If you showed me the gameplay from this and Destiny 1, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart. Even the enemies are the same.

From what I've seen the choice of weapons have changed. But the comabt is still the same, the weapon balance is still awful (hand cannon with Sniper range).

There isnt enough there to tempt me to pre-order or even pick up Day 1. Ranking the 4 games I'm likely to get Destiny 2 is 4th, making it a Christmas purchase at earliest.

1. CoD : WWII
2. RDR2
3. NHL 18 8)

There are my Day 1 purchases planned at the moment. I'll wait for reports on the Beta on D2 but like you say its Destiny v1.2 so I know what I'm getting.

Call of Duty trumps it as previously the weapons balance has been excellent and therefore helps on multiplayer. RDR will be typical Rockstar and NHL is the best sports game out there.

All Bungie need to do is get the weapons balance right and make exclusive exotics for each type of gameplay, then it would mean everyone can get exotics, can level up without a huge grind and have to mix and match the weapons for the different situations.

Ooh yeah, I keep forgetting about RDR2. That's a guaranteed day one and it's out at around the same time (I think, it's a vague "Autumn" last I checked).
