Call of Duty WW2

PostSun Oct 29, 2017 9:23 am

is anyone getting this /pre ordered it?

I gave last years a miss for the first time ever cos it was all space and stuff, this looks like a proper CoD back in the war. Just don't know if it will be as good as Battlefield1

Best price I can see is £44.85 on simplygames

You won't be able to get on. All early version players aren't able to do anything until day 1 patch is out. Which won't be released till 12:00am I assume. But if that patch is online now you'll be grand.

Re: Call of Duty WW2

Got about two hours on this last night and I love it. No stupid flying jumps, massive weapons or ridiculous killstreaks, just proper old style running round and shooting, good maps with loads of alleys/doorways/windows etc. Time between dying (which I still do a lot) and starting back up is literally a second so there's no waiting round

Got up to level 6, theres people on 30 already

Only thing that's a bit weird is this hub/base thing they have put in that you can walk around between finding matches, but you can just click straight out of it if you want

Quick bit of advice, if you are getting it make sure you put the disc in a couple of hours before you expect to be able to play it - mine had an 8gb download followed by a 9gb download

Will get disc put in straight away and get these updates.

Watched a few people playing MP last night, some of the maps look amazing. Seems theyve lifted a few from COD 2.

Had a few hours on it last night when it released and managed to rank up quite a bit. Absolutely love it, feels exactly as it should but I can see it frustrating the life out of a lot of people.

A few tips for when you first get on, the aim down sight is really slow if your sprinting, so if you keep running back into the action you will lose the gunfights every time, and hip firing is useless unless you have steady aim attached. It's all about pre aiming and map position again.

Sub machine guns were shredding in the beta but looks like they've been nerfed, I'm alternating between the FG 42 and the STG.

Servers were absolutely attrocious /swamped last night, was in a party with my brother and it was taking about ten mins to find games. No problems once we were actually in but it was painful trying to find one

Apart from the servers being a bit dodgy, this game is the shit.

Campaign is great so far, typical COD set pieces, but it's thoroughly enjoyable.

Multiplayer maps are fantastic, nice pace to a match too without the super speed and wall jumping etc. Guns feel weighty which is a weird thing to say when it's a video game, but it just feels right.

If they can get over these early server issues, which I'm sure they will, this could be up there as one of the best COD's.

The servers are a disgrace, struggle to get more than a couple of games in the same lobby and if you do it's a 10 minute wait between each game.

My biggest gripe at the minute is the maps though. Gustav in particular is terrible on objective modes, and the rest are all very samey, certainly none that will go down as great COD maps. The lack of rotation when having to jump in and out of lobbys probably isn't helping though.

Xbox is fine as it has 1/10th the player count of the ps4.

Guess this is where it helps to have the inferior console.

Played the first mission of the campaign it is absolutely incredible - it was done in a Medal of Honor game (might have been Frontline?) - where you basically land on D-Day / do the opening of Saving Private Ryan

Maybe it's because Remembrance Day is near I don't know but I found myself thinking 'f.cking hell imagine actually doing this' like running into the pill boxes and trenches, or just actually trying to get up the beach, it took me five attempts to get up the beach ... the people who did it only got one chance :(

Looking forward to getting through the rest of the campaign

Had the best game of my WWII career last night on TDM, came top of my team and enemies on the Warship level ... followed it up with two of the worst games I've had

Enjoyed the War match with able and jooky, class setting with the tanks travelling over the bridges I do think in these things it's always easier to defend first

Sorry we were only on for one game mate, we'd been on since half 6.

Proper enjoyed that War map, very interesting idea with the 3 tanks.

Servers worked perfectly last night. Was so much fun. Even got a 16/2 run in on TDM.

So far, this is everything I'd hoped and wanted from COD returning to WW2.

I'll be on and off all weekend. Once we get Rich and Tom on; we'll have to organise a session where we're all on at the same time and do something a bit more tactical. War might work well, or Search & Destroy maybe?

The bar got nerfed about 10 minutes after I got to 52, literally had to download the patch after I set my class up with it

It's not that bad though, slight decrease in fire rate and wider hip fire. The FG 42 on the other hand has been destroyed, went from having no recoil, which makes sense as it's fire rate is so low, to now having the worst recoil of all AR's, which makes no sense. It's useless now.

Really is a winner isn't it. Seems to scratch an itch we've all been missing with the latest COD's.

Enjoying the SP too, really liked the 'stealth' mission where you play as the French lass.

Garand is a lovely weapon.

Will definitely have to get some big group games over the holidays.
